Economy and development: Armand Gaetan NGUETI becomes the official and exclusive representative of Cameroon’s federation of agricultural women processors’ common initiative group unions (FUTPAC)
The “ATRI” revolution is underway
Signing of a historic agreement between FUTPAC and expert Armand Gaetan NGUETI: towards industrial sovereignty driven by rural women.
YAOUNDÉ, 12 May 2026 — Cameroon’s economic landscape has reached a decisive milestone. In an atmosphere of solemnity and ambition, the Fédération des Unions des GIC des Transformatrices des Produits Agricoles du Cameroun (FUTPAC) officially signed an exclusive representation agreement this Tuesday with Mr Armand Gaetan NGUETI, an expert adviser in strategy and execution.
Signed in the presence of FUTPAC’s leadership and Mr Armand Gaetan NGUETI’s panel of technical advisers, this agreement marks the operational launch of the National Project for Accelerating Inclusive Rural Transformation (ATRI).
A transformative mandate for a national ambition
More than a simple consultancy contract, this agreement gives Armand Gaetan NGUETI an “official and exclusive” mandate to orchestrate the federation’s overall strategy.
The objective is clear: transform artisanal Common Initiative Groups (GICs) into major digital agro-industrial businesses.
“The time for transformation has come,” participants heard during the ceremony. This alliance aims to advance the objectives of SND30 and PIISAH, with an emphasis on import substitution, particularly through the industrial processing of cassava to reduce dependence on imported wheat.
Blockchain technology serving the land
At the heart of this revolution is a social and technological architecture unprecedented in Cameroon:
- Camtrade Pass™: blockchain infrastructure guaranteeing full traceability for “Made in Cameroon” products and creating a credit history for rural producers.
- UAA-DP (UBTS Africa Agritech Digital Passport): an agricultural digital passport to certify conformity with international standards and facilitate access to financing.
Through these tools, the ATRI project plans to create 10,000 agricultural digital jobs over five years, primarily targeting rural women and young people.
Ambitious macroeconomic objectives
The ATRI project goes beyond production; it seeks to transform the very structure of the rural economy:
- GDP growth: actively contributing to the target of 8.1% growth by 2030.
- Financial inclusion: mobilising more than CFA 10 billion through blockchain-secured microcredit mechanisms.
- Food sovereignty: producing 13,000 tonnes of bread-making cassava flour to replace wheat imports, which weigh heavily on the trade balance.
A project for society
Mrs TSIMI EMBOLO Aimée Léocadie, FUTPAC’s General Delegate, and Mr Armand Gaetan NGUETI are sealing a pact for the dignity of rural women. Combining the labour of thousands of women processors with high-level strategic and technological expertise, the FUTPAC–NGUETI partnership positions itself at the forefront of the “second generation” of Cameroonian agriculture.
Deployment begins immediately. Rural processing units are now set to enter the era of economic intelligence, making Cameroon a driver of agritech innovation in Central Africa.
