A historic milestone: “Made in Cameroon” products with Camtrade Pass break through European standards barriers through the strategic alliance between PIPRA Cameroun S.A. and Africa Evergreen Corporations, France

This is a decisive turning point for Cameroon’s economy. PIPRA Cameroun S.A. has signed a historic partnership agreement with the French company Africa Evergreen Corporations (AEC). More than a simple commercial agreement, it is an operational response to the challenges that have hindered effective implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) for a decade.

Cameroon’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is buzzing

Camtrade Pass, led by PIPRA Cameroun S.A. in close institutional collaboration with Cameroon’s Ministry of Trade, is reaching a crucial milestone today. By signing this exclusive contract with Africa Evergreen Corporations, Cameroon moves beyond exporting raw materials: it now exports its know-how, finished products and industrial excellence, in full conformity with European Union requirements.

Ending the EPA paradox: how Camtrade Pass removes non-tariff barriers

For almost ten years, despite the signing of Economic Partnership Agreements guaranteeing duty-free access to the European market, Cameroonian producers struggled to benefit. Why? Because the barrier was no longer customs duties, but standards.

The EU’s stringent traceability and health-safety requirements, including phytosanitary standards, and new sustainability regulations — the Green Deal and action against imported deforestation — formed an insurmountable barrier for isolated SMEs.

This is where Camtrade Pass becomes disruptive. The AEC contract is the culmination of a rigorous upgrading process. With Camtrade Pass, products are no longer exported “on an adventure”. They are:

  • Traceable end to end: from the field to a Parisian shelf, ensuring complete transparency.
  • Compliant with EU regulations: analysed and certified before export.
  • Protective of consumers: providing European customers with the assurance of a healthy, ethical and sustainable product.

This partnership therefore puts the EPAs into practice, turning a theoretical opportunity into tangible trade flows.

A logistics and commercial hub at the heart of Europe

Central to the agreement is the immediate establishment of a logistics and commercial hub in Paris. In practical terms, this means:

  • A standards-compliant storage warehouse capable of serving France and neighbouring countries.
  • A physical showcase shop, a true embassy for Cameroonian taste and expertise in Paris.

Africa Evergreen Corporations, exclusive distributor of the Camtrade Pass product range, will be responsible for supplying the European market — supermarkets, delicatessens and wholesalers — with these outstanding products.

Protecting producers: the “Cash Before Shipment” model

This partnership is also a financial revolution. The agreement includes an inventory prefinancing clause. Camtrade Pass-qualified products will now be paid for before leaving Cameroon. This ends uncertainty for local champions, who will have the cash needed to industrialise production and meet demand from Europe’s 450 million consumers.

The culmination of an ecosystem of agreements

The signing with AEC is not an isolated act. It crowns the structure patiently built by PIPRA Cameroun S.A. through all the agreements and partnerships already initiated with key ecosystem stakeholders: testing laboratories, certification experts, logistics providers and technology partners. The combined effect of these prior agreements is what now allows us to guarantee impeccable quality to our French partner and, by extension, the European market.

A victory for economic diplomacy

This operational achievement results from the enlightened vision of the Minister of Trade, H.E. Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana. By implementing the High Instructions of the President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya, with skill and pragmatism, the minister created an institutional framework conducive to the emergence of such national champions. PIPRA Cameroun S.A. is honoured to serve as the operational arm of this national expansion strategy.

The digital era: the Camtrade Pass Store Europe marketplace

The ambition extends beyond physical borders. The agreement provides for the imminent launch of the Camtrade Pass Store Europe marketplace. Following the success of the local Camtrade Pass Store, this platform will allow any European citizen to order Cameroonian excellence in a few clicks, with complete confidence in the product’s origin and quality.

Join the momentum. Stop allowing standards to be an obstacle and make them an advantage. Have your products supported by Camtrade Pass and reach the world.
