Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Trade and PIPRA Cameroun S.A.: a historic step towards transforming value chains and protecting “Made in Cameroon”
PIPRA Cameroun S.A. is honoured to announce that on 24 November 2025, the official signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place in the Ministry of Trade’s conference hall. The agreement was signed between the Republic of Cameroon, represented by the Minister of Trade, and PIPRA Cameroun S.A., represented by its Chairman of the Board, Mr Armand Gaëtan NGUETI.
The ceremony, chaired by the Minister of Trade, took place at the scheduled time in the presence of senior figures and institutional, economic and technical partners committed to modernising national value chains.
Distinguished guests included:
- The Director General of LANACOME, the National Laboratory for Drug Quality Control and Expertise;
- The President of the Network of Enterprises and Professionals in Cameroon’s Telecommunications and Digital Sector (REPTIC.CM);
- Representatives of Cameroon’s National Consumer Network (RNC);
- Several senior representatives of the Ministry of Trade’s established bodies, in accordance with the minister’s official invitation.
A strategic MoU for economic sovereignty and consumer protection
This memorandum marks a decisive step in implementing CAMTRADE PASS, an innovative national programme led by PIPRA Cameroun S.A., aimed at:
- Advanced product traceability;
- Combating counterfeiting;
- Securing supply chains;
- Promoting the “Made in Cameroon” label;
- Protecting consumers through cutting-edge digital technologies.
Under the Ministry of Trade’s sponsorship, this MoU represents a joint commitment by the State and PIPRA Cameroun S.A. to strengthen trust in local products, boost industrial competitiveness and position Cameroon as a regional leader in intelligent traceability and commercial transparency.
A strengthened multisector partnership
The presence of institutions such as LANACOME, REPTIC.CM, RNC and many other stakeholders demonstrates CAMTRADE PASS’s strategic, cross-sector importance. Its success depends on close collaboration between the State, the private sector, technical participants and civic organisations.
