The event: the “Foire-Expo du 237” lights up Yaoundé under the banner of quality and consumer protection
From 27 to 29 November 2025, the Ngousso neighbourhood in Yaoundé becomes the epicentre of “Made in Cameroon”. In an unprecedented initiative combining professional training and a public exhibition, Camtrade Pass launches the “Foire-Expo du 237 Training: the Made in Cameroon revolution is underway”.
This is much more than a simple fair. It is the start of a new era for local producers and the protection of Cameroonian consumers. Organised at GRACES Hôtel and on the Carrefour Paradis esplanade, the event marks a decisive step in the expansion of Camtrade Pass activities.
A strategic alliance for quality
To meet this challenge, Camtrade Pass has brought together leading institutional and technical partners. The event benefits from the support of the Ministry of Trade (MINCOMMERCE) and Cameroon’s National Consumer Network (RNC).
Together, we are deploying a new consumer protection platform. The objective is clear: clean up the market and ensure that every “Made in Cameroon” product purchased is safe, tested and traceable.
For producers: moving towards professionalisation
The training component of the event, held at GRACES Hôtel, addresses the major challenges faced by local craftspeople, microenterprises and SMEs. Through the partnership agreement between PIPRA Cameroun S.A. and LANACOME, together with GS1 Cameroon’s expertise, trained producers will benefit from:
- Easier access to laboratories: understanding LANACOME’s prerequisites for product testing.
- Lower costs: solutions for grouping technical files.
- Traceability to international standards: the importance of GS1 barcodes for accessing major markets.
Four umbrella organisations — COPEMIC, FAFE, FUTPAC and FABEC — are mobilised to support this development of skills.
For the public: discover, taste and verify
On the Carrefour Paradis esplanade, the atmosphere will be one of celebration and discovery. Visitors will be able to:
- Savour local products: quick tasting-and-sales sessions to discover the richness of local agri-food, cosmetics and handicraft products.
- Adopt local technology: live demonstrations of the Camtrade Pass application. The public will learn the habit of “Scan before you buy” to verify product authenticity and avoid counterfeits.
An event open to everyone
The event is designed to be inclusive. It is open to all organisations and stakeholders working to promote “Made in Cameroon”. This is the time to unite our efforts to build a robust, reliable local ecosystem.
